Dr. Haider al-Abadi receives the American Ambassador in Baghdad, Ms. Alina Romansky

The head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider al-Abadi, received the American Ambassador in Baghdad yesterday, Tuesday, Mrs. Alina Romansky.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various fields and reviewing the overall situation in Iraq and the region, as well as the file of ending the tasks of The International Coalition Forces from Iraq.

Dr. Al-Abadi emphasized that the Iraqi government has the legitimacy to represent the state and speak on its behalf, and we support the procedures for starting the Iraqi-American dialogue to end the tasks of the International Coalition. He added: "We aspire to end the tasks of the International Coalition to fight ISIS, which was eliminated ten years ago, and to move to a new stage of bilateral relations in all fields, and we must witness comprehensive cooperation to pursue terrorism. Terrorism is globally organized, financed, and propagated, and encircling and eradicating it is an international solidarity task."

Al-Abadi pointed out that there are excellent prospects for developing Iraqi-American cooperation based on the strategic framework agreement approved by the Iraqi Council of Representatives, especially economic, scientific, and technical files. Noting that the responsible countries do not sacrifice the balance of their relations and interests by reckless action, uncalculated emotion, or uncontrolled reactions.

He also stressed the centrality of Iraq in the region and the need to remove Iraq from the conflict of the axes, especially the American-Iranian one.

At the end of the meeting, al-Abadi touched on the events of Gaza, the crises facing the region as dangerous and explosive, especially the war and aggression against Gaza and the usurpation of Palestinian rights, calling on America and the international community to stop the war, deliver humanitarian aid, and begin drawing a road map for the Palestinians to obtain their legitimate rights, which is an inherent Palestinian right. It is legitimate that peace and stability in the region cannot be achieved without achieving it.
