Dr. Al-Abadi hosts an elite group of professors and academics and stresses the educational system’s need for multi-level reform

The head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, hosted in his weekly meeting an elite group of professors and academics from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, including university presidents, deans, general directors, assistants, and trade unionists.

The meeting started with a discussion of the educational reality and its development, where Dr. Al-Abadi stressed that education represents the basic foundation in the development of societies. For this reason, we need to reform our educational curriculum, and this is the responsibility of decision-making leaders and educational and teaching staff.

Dr. Al-Abadi added: "Decision makers must have real experience to make decisions that change reality and make it beneficial for the educational system. The educational staff must also be taken care of through continuous training to achieve sustainable improvement."

The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the current political reality in Iraq, as well as the changes in the security situation and recent events in this field.

Regarding the events in Gaza and the injustice to which the Palestinians are exposed, Dr. Al-Abadi indicated that this problem does not seem to have a solution on the horizon and options are still open, while he criticized the absence of an international solution to the humanitarian violations practiced under international support.

The academics and educators discussed the challenges in the educational field in terms of their institutions’ need for comprehensive training and qualification care at the highest level, as happens in prestigious educational institutions in the world, and this can be achieved through decision makers who understand the depth of the problem and the solution.

The attendees raised the importance of liberating education from politics, distributing academic positions on an ideological basis, the absence of constructive educational solidity, and international educational agreements.
