The head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, met with a number of Parliament members in Baghdad, yesterday, Wednesday.

 

Within a series of weekly periodic meetings with elites of Iraqi society, Dr. Al-Abadi discussed a number of pressing issues in the country's legislative space.

Al-Abadi stressed the importance of Parliament taking on its role in promoting democratic practice and achieving stability. This is done through careful work in legislating the laws that regulate life in Iraq. As well as, monitoring and accountability to properly implement policies and fight corruption. In addition to representing citizens and expressing their opinions and needs by discussing their real issues, and resolving conflicts and political differences, and enhancing stability by achieving a balance between powers and representing different groups and regions.

Dr. Al-Abadi also discussed with the guests, members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, the type of challenges that hinder the implementation of parliamentarian duties, and the individual attempts worthy of appreciation for some who work hard in trying to perform their duty, versus others who have an outside-the-box vision of what they should do.
