Dr. Haider al-Abadi, Head Command of the National State Forces Alliance, stressed the need for broad popular participation in the elections, assuring that participation would enhance the legitimacy of the political system and establish the change that the people aspire to. This came after voting at Al-Watan School in the capital, Baghdad.
Dr. Al-Abadi pointed out that the competing forces should abide to the rules of democratic work, away from any practice of intimidating or falsifying the voter's voice.
Al-Abadi stressed the need for the emergence of a government capable of dealing efficiently and responsibly, especially with the financial and economic file, because it has a positive impact on the lives of citizens and creates job opportunities for young ones and graduates, and to be able to manage internal, regional and international contradictions in accordance with the Iraqi interest and to a combination of wisdom and strength, and to embark on comprehensive structural reforms for all sectors of the state to raise their efficiency.
Al-Abadi valued the role and sacrifices of the people towards the political system, which necessitates the rise of the political forces to the legitimate aspirations and hopes of the people.
