Dr. Haider Al-Abadi during receiving young leaders of political parties and forces: The party system based on sub-identities does not build a state

Today, Wednesday, the head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, received the leaders of political parties and forces as part of his series of weekly meetings with the elites of society.

In his speech, Dr. Al-Abadi spoke about the importance of political consensus to achieve democracy, describing the component consensus based on the equation: component + component share + party representing the component = the state's ethnic-sectarian quota system as abnormal. He also stressed that the party system based on sub-identities does not build a democratic citizen-state but is a project of disguised mini-states.

He added: "The legitimacy of the political system is based on popular participation, and participation is enhanced and diminished by the performance and credibility of political parties inside and outside power."

Al-Abadi stressed that the party's patriotism is a decisive factor in the role of parties in the state and that any subordination or dependence on the will or representation of the interests of a non-national foreigner is a betrayal of the people and the state.

Dr. Al-Abadi discussed with the attendees how to support young people at all levels, including political, social, and cultural levels, and involve them in institutional work directed through parental care and sound ideological guidance to support and build the state, pointing out that societal elites are the ones who lead society and are the ones who decide its fate. Therefore, they must have a high level of discipline, culture, and education.

The attendees recalled Dr. Al-Abadi's management of the state, his commitments to economic and national interests, and his leadership in the critical phase that threatened Iraq and the region, which was confronting and defeating terrorism.
