Al Nasr Coalition: We welcome the announcement of the resumption of the anticipated Iraqi-American talks, which must cover all aspects of the crisis while providing guarantees of their success

Al Nasr Coalition welcomes the announcement of the Iraqi-American agreement on resuming the work of the Higher Military Committee (HMC) between the two countries and considers it a step in the right direction to defuse the current crisis and the dangerous repercussions it could lead to.

"Al Nasr Coalition" believes that the upcoming Iraqi-American discussions must cover all aspects of the crisis while providing guarantees of their success and not stop at the limits of ending the mission of the International Coalition to fight ISIS. Failure to look comprehensively and with specific commitments and implementation guarantees will not resolve the crisis, nor will it draw a road map to prevent its renewal and escalation.

Al Nasr Coalition reaffirms its "Disengagement" initiative, which it launched on January 24, 2024, as a framework for a comprehensive solution to the crisis and calls for its handling of the crisis to be taken into consideration in the negotiations to ensure the integration of the solutions adopted and their future success, including moving to the stage of focusing on bilateral relations with the countries of The International Coalition to fight ISIS, relations based on equality, mutual respect, preservation of Iraqi sovereignty, and close cooperation in all bilateral fields.

For decision-makers and negotiators, we refer back to the provisions of the "Disengagement" Initiative:

1-Ending the mission of the International Coalition Forces after ten years of fighting ISIS, according to a road map agreed upon within a specific period.

2-Preventing any combat presence of all International Coalition Forces in Iraq.

3-Condemning and criminalizing any American military or security targeting of any Iraqi individuals and institutions on Iraqi soil.

4-Organizing advisory and training cooperation areas within clear, specific, and binding legal agreements for all Iraqi and foreign parties.

5-Preventing the use of Iraq as a launching pad for any hostile action against any country, especially neighboring countries, as stipulated in the Iraqi Constitution, and to ensure the neutralization and stability of Iraq.

6-Ensuring that Iraq is neutralized militarily and security-wise in regional and international conflicts in which Iraq has no interest. At the same time, Iraq is committed to its political and humanitarian duty regarding crucial issues. And to support Iraq if it is exposed to any external aggression or violation of its unity, security, and sovereignty by any country.

7-Adopting the "Strategic Framework Agreement" as a basis for organizing Iraqi-American relations.

8-Criminalizing the targeting of any foreign diplomatic, advisory, or economic presence legally present on Iraqi soil.

9-Supporting the democratic process in Iraq as a basis for the structure of the political system and the formation of authorities.

10-Supporting the elected Iraqi governments, and deal with it as the only legitimate government representing the Iraqi state in its policies and interests, and no party can dispute its sovereign decisions internally and externally.
