Today, Wednesday, the head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, received in his office the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Futoshi Matsumoto.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening relations between Baghdad and Tokyo in various fields and ways to consolidate them to serve the two countries, in addition to reviewing the overall situation in Iraq and the region.

Dr. Al-Abadi stressed the importance of moving forward with the country's reconstruction, providing services to citizens, and supporting the government in its reform approach, noting that what was achieved in holding governorate council elections represents an approach to democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.

In turn, the Japanese Ambassador congratulated Dr. Al-Abadi on holding the local elections, stressing Japan's support for Iraq and its desire to expand the horizons of economic cooperation.
