Al Nasr Coalition, headed by Dr. Haider al-Abadi, held its general conference in Baghdad, amid the presence of the Coalition leaders and its members from all provinces.

The conference was opened with a welcome speech, listening to the national anthem, and then reading some of the verses of the Holy Qur’an and Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq.

In his speech, Dr. Haider Al-Abadi said: "In order to ensure survival and development, we must renew work methods, frameworks of responsibilities, and fields of activities, and push our organizational work forward in order to have a strong presence while we are engaged in national political action," stressing that our main battle is the battle of winning the state against chaos, corruption, failure and dependency.

Al-Abadi added: "We were the ones who led the state in 2014 when it was a rubble of a state, and many bet on our collapse, due to ISIS terrorism, the suffocating financial situation, the torrents of displaced people, and the disintegration of the state. But we won the bet of the battle, so we liberated the land and people, united the country, and preserved the economy from collapse, we restored Iraq's status, handed over power in 2018, and the state was healthy and on the path of integration".

Al-Abadi indicated that Al Nasr Coalition believes that the effective national governance system is the main lever and the solid core that is capable of preserving the existence, well-being and sovereignty of the state, and that ethnic sectarian consensus, abhorrent quotas, corruption, parties swallowing up the state, currents or groups overpowering the state, fragmentation of the unity of the state's action and the dependence of its will on the foreigner, are all elements of the annihilation of the state. And that the best form of the political system is the national political system based on the trio of the state of citizenship and institutions, effective good governance and a unified and solidarity-based people.

Dr. Al-Abadi directed his speech to the members of the Coalition at the end of his speech by saying: "You are the solid nucleus of Al Nasr, and its solid organizational structure, so be worthy of self-responsibility and patriotism, imbue with the thought of Al Nasr, and seek collective action and the supremacy of the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation among you".

This was followed by the attendees chanting the oath of belonging to Al Nasr Coalition, serving the country and the people, and pledging to abide by the national principles of the Coalition.

After that, the attending members discussed their working papers and activities, and the interventions and proposals were listened to.

During the conference, the attendees elected the "Al Nasr Council", which represents the General Assembly of the Coalition, as it was granted confidence by the General Assembly as its representative.

The Council represents the highest representative authority in the Coalition, and its decisions are enforceable and binding on all coordinators and governorate offices. It is responsible for approving the Coalition’s general policy, election and nomination mechanisms in its organizational structures, programs, action plans and required activities, and following up on their implementation with the Coalition President. in addition to approving the internal rules of the coalition, and formulating its general positions. Among his duties is also the supervision and follow-up of the work of the Coalition formations, including specialized or local coordinators, and the formation of coordinators, committees, and work teams upon a proposal from the head of the Coalition.
