Dr. Haider Al-Abadi during his participation in Al-Rafidain Forum: The voter s voice will decide which direction Iraq will go to

Dr. Haider al-Abadi, head of Al Nasr Coalition, confirmed during his participation in Al-Rafidain Forum, today, Monday, that the voter's voice is what will decide in which direction Iraq will go, as the elections will take place on time according to all data and everyone must participate in it, even the opponents, to change the balance of power in the country.

Dr. Al-Abadi also indicated that we must rely on our own strengths and efforts to defend security and reduce the gap between the citizen and the political system, and to build on the achievements that have occurred previously and undo the negatives that delayed our path.

Dr. Al-Abadi added: "The clash with the protesting masses in October is a dangerous matter, resulting in hundreds of martyrs. I do not claim that dealing with the demonstrators in my era was completely correct, but the general trend of the state is to protect them, and we must listen to the other opinion in order to correct the path, and the common interests based on supporting sovereignty is the best solution to maintain the security of Iraq without dependence on others".

Regarding the recent attacks launched by ISIS, Al-Abadi said: "ISIS' presence on the ground has ended, but its terrorist ideology is still present. We were offered to bring foreign forces on the ground to fight them and we refused, we entered into a real battle to end the army's corruption during the war of liberation, and I was able to rely on real leaders to fight ISIS and change the equation".

The session, which was titled "The Middle East: Ongoing Conflicts and Temporary Solutions", included a repeated warning to Al-Abadi that the region is on the verge of serious challenges and instability.

The forum was attended by Mr. Mujahid Abu Al-Heel, the Member of Media and Communications Commission, chairing the session, and the Former Head of the Jordanian Royal Court, Dr. Jawad Al-Anani, Director of the Orsam Center in Turkey, Dr. Ahmed Uysal, and President of the International Institute for Iranian-Saudi Studies, Dr. Muhammad bin Saqr Al-Salami, and the Assistant of Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Sajad Boor.
