Al-Abadi meets the sheikhs and dignitaries of Kirkuk and stresses: Corruption is the biggest enemy in facing crises

Today, Sunday, the head of Al Nasr Coalition, Dr. Haider al-Abadi, met with sheikhs and dignitaries from the city of Kirkuk, in Baghdad.

The meeting included discussing a number of issues that concern the Kirkuki street, such as the poor security level that some villages and districts suffer from.

The economic, agricultural, and service situation were also reviewed, as well as focusing on the importance of reconstruction and ways to overcome difficulties and the reluctance that stands without implementing the required at the appropriate level.

In response to the importance of preserving what has been achieved for the city of Kirkuk, Dr. Al-Abadi said: "We want to build a just state not the unjust one, tyranny does not last. Today, corruption is the biggest enemy in facing crises, not the lack of resources, as corruption is what enabled ISIS to control before".

He added that people's awakening to what is right and supporting it plays a major role in protecting Kirkuk from being taken over by people who do not preserve it, and this responsibility hold part of it the city's sheikhs and dignitaries.

The sheikhs recalled the attitude of Dr. Al-Abadi when he dealt with the Kirkuk crisis in October 2017 with cleanliness and as a statesman, as no blood was spilled and all the city’s residents, including Arabs, Kurds and Turkmens, were treated as citizens of the state, all without exception.
